A. Army Squash Charter v5.0
The competition rules for this event can be found at Annex C to Reference A. The administration instruction addendum for this event will be issued the first week in October 2023.
There are a couple of changes to the Charter to be aware of, and some additional info as follows:
- Due to the number of teams and only 3 days matches will be PAR 11 best of 3 games.
- Declared squads can be up to 8 in strength but players can only be registered with one team – two examples the 7th seed for the A Team cannot play for the B Team and similarly the 2nd seed for the B team cannot play for the A team. Careful consideration of selection is therefore required.
- Team seedings will need to be confirmed in the first week of November and will then be fixed.
- The competition is open to all Regular and Reserve personnel. The following are ineligible to enter the competition:
• Personnel still in Phase 1 Trg. Players undergoing training that have not yet been ‘cap badged’ may not represent their future Corps.
• Exchange Officers/Soldiers. Service personnel not serving in the British Army but on exchange may not enter the competition.
- Teams and their Divisions based on results last and subject to teams entering on time and providing AS Ops Mgr with prerequisites set by the AS Charter:
• Evidence of having carried out an annual Corps Championships for 2022/23 season
• Evidence of one development activity in the past 12 months
• Each team needs to provide 2 x qualified referees.
• Complete and submit the annual report to the AS Ops Mgr (Annex J of Reference A) by 30 Sep 23.
- Seeding to determine the schedule of play will be carried out once all teams have had a chance to register towards the end of October and will be made by the AS Chair by randomly selecting teams from their respective pot via a live Zoom call. The schedule/draw will then be released at the start of November.
