Northern Region and Cairns Squash reserves the right to move or cancel this event should there be the need due to the Covid-19 pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances. We will need to follow the Centre's Covid-19 Safe Plan.

The second Northern Region Junior Tournament, the 2023 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships, will be hosted at the Cairns - Sportsworld Fitness Centre on the 11th and 12th of February 2023.

The 2023 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships is a premium regional junior tournament with OVER TBA in Prizes/Giftcards.

Players need to compete in Ingham (compulsory) and 2 of the 3 other NR Junior tournaments, being Townsville, Mackay, or Cairns to be eligible for the selection of Northern Region Redback Team, which will compete in the Queensland regional teams event at the 2023 Queensland Junior Championships (QJC) 25th June till 2nd July 2023.

The 2023 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be "following on".

Northern Region will continue to run:
1) Two tiers – an aged championship, alongside a novice graded competition.
This will encourage and inspire new players to the sport and tournaments.
2) Doubles team event for Aged Championship Players only.
3) Adult event (for parents/guardian's with a competing child)

ENTRY FEES:
Aged Championship Entry Fee - 1 Event $55, 2 Events $65
Doubles (for Aged Championship Players only) - $10
Novice (Aged Championship Players Ineligible) - $20
Adult Event : $50
Minimum of 3 matches.
Nomination Fees must be paid Saturday morning at the Centre prior to commencing play.

SQUASH QLD AFFILIATION

EYEWARE
Protective Eyewear, (Regulation 13 - Protective Eyewear Policy, Squash Australia) and (2.12 - Policy 51, QSquash)
"Any Australian player who satisfies the Squash Australia age eligibility for 19 years and all younger age groups is required to wear eyewear when playing in domestic or international tournaments or competitions"
Doubles: "Protective eyewear must be worn by all players (junior or senior) when playing in doubles competition / tournaments"
