We had a great turnout on Monday April 8, with 6 ladies competing for the 2024 Ladies Championship.

 

We started with a round-robin format and ended with an epic final between defending champion Julie-Ann Berube and teenage sensation Nicole Kukulka.  (for those who attended our tennis championships this is a familiar story, our Timmins teens are taking over both leagues).

 

The match went the full 3 games (it was almost 10pm so we were limited for time).  In the final game, there were at least a few match points for both competitors, with Julie-Ann's 4 year defending reign on the brink several times.

 

The defending champ dug out and won the final game 13-11, securing her hold on the championship locker (and a new squash bag) for another year.

 

Thanks to the Ladies who attended, it was a fun evening, as much laughter as great squash.  See attached photos of the competitors (champ Julie- Ann is second from left).

 

A special thanks to Michael Tremblay who cleaned the floor and tin before the event (who knew the tin was actually white?).
