Warrington beat a spirited Wigan 3-2, to claim valuable points in the title race.

Joel Makin made light work of New Zealander Mason Smales. I'd never seen Mason Smales play before - he reminded me of a young Del Harris. Very cocked technique. Unfortunately though Joel was too accurate and fast, leaving Mason wondering what he had to do to win a point against the in-form Welshman.

Wigan coach Julian put up a fantastic fight against classy Earles. Julian ran as he always does, but hit some delightful volleys along the way. James was certainly feeling edgy as he was struggling to put Julian to bed (!) but eventually had a bit too much variation which meant he could take the entertaining match 3-1.

Ben played well to dispatch me, and Ryan played exceptionally well to beat Charlie. Ryan was playing tight on the backhand side, an area Charlie normally likes to dominate. Of course this match contained some fiery moments as the two big men battled it out. Ryan always likes to give the ref and crowd some cheeky comments, meaning his matches are always one to watch.

Nat Fairhurst also played very well. After missing most of the first half of the season with a back injury, he was back to top form, and gave Emily a lot of problems as he ran well and was able to hit low winners regularly. Emily did a great job to stay a few points a head each game, meaning that after she drew level at 1-1, Nat was always playing catch-up.

A good crowd saw us take the victory as we keep clawing one step closer to another league title.
